The Care Quality Commission (CQC) Release The 2021/2022 State Of Care Report

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have released the 2021/2022 State Of Care report, which looks at the trends, shares examples of good and outstanding care, and highlights where care needs to improve.

This year's report highlights a number of key issues including that today, the health and care system in England is in gridlock and this is clearly having a huge negative impact on people’s experiences of care.

Areas covered in the report include:

  1. A gridlocked care system
  2. Inequalities with access to care
  3. Specific concerns with maternity services, intellectual disability services and mental health services 
  4. Depleted workforce
  5. Challenges and opportunities in local services
