This year's report highlights a number of key issues including that today, the health and care system in England is in gridlock and this is clearly having a huge negative impact on people’s experiences of care.

Areas covered in the report include:

  1. A gridlocked care system
  2. Inequalities with access to care
  3. Specific concerns with maternity services, intellectual disability services and mental health services
  4. Depleted workforce
  5. Challenges and opportunities in local services
